I am setting up a group in Library Thing for the book club I belong to. I'm hoping we can keep track of the books we've read, and that the other members of my club will want to do this.
Library Thing is great for finding out what other people are reading (which I love to do-- I'm one of those nosy people who will check out your bookshelf at home).
Here are a few titles my book club has read:

Image Generator

OK, so far image generators are the funnest thing. I can think of many wicked uses for them.
I found this one on The Generator Blog here
Remembering how to fill out an index card was hard (Mr. Hagler probably won't approve), but the hardest part was making the link work!

RSS feeds continued
I subscribed to a few more using Google, including a blog by the editor of Horn Book, a children's literature review journal, and a feed from PW (although I have a stack of actual PW's to go through on my desk...). I've added the Horn Book blog to a blog list (below My Profile) to prove I actually did it!
I found Technorati, etc. a bit difficult to navigate, as the front pages are so busy-looking (and seem to be dominated by American election coverage), but I can see how they would be useful tools if you were doing doing research on a esoteric topic and wanted to keep up with what other researchers are up to.

RSS Feeds
I learned about RSS feeds (I like those youtube tutorials) and created a Google Reader account. RSS could be dangerous for a recovering people.com addict like myself, but when it comes down to it, I'm not really a news junkie, and at the moment can't think of how 5 subscriptions would Make My Life Better. Also, "feed" makes me think of Feed by M.T. Anderson, so I'm a little paranoid. I did sign up for CBC's Election coverage, to give the illusion that I care, and I think RSS feeds are good for keeping up with current events that will have a definite end (I was going to subscribe to an Olympics feed, but it turned out my vacation coincided with the Olympics). Perhaps I'll change my mind as I explore further.
P.S. I did get a new (well, new to me) car, a 2008 Nissan Versa, which I haven't scratched or dinged yet. I'm getting used to all the luxury features I've never had before, like a passenger side mirror and a CD player.
